The Shelby GT500 KR Carroll Shelby auction

Launched in 2008, the Shelby GT500 KR was one of the most powerful Shelby of time with 547 hp under the hood from a V8 5.4 compressed. One model, famous for being owned by Carroll Shelby himself, will be auctioned in October.

Presented in 2007 and launched in early 2008, the Shelby GT500 KR is far from being the most famous Mustang prepared by the sorcerer appointed to the Pony Car. Produced 1,712 copies, arguably remains very marginal facing the GT500 core, although less exclusive than its big brother the Super Snake strong 800 hp. The surname KR, for King of the Road, was launched in 1968 on the GT500 for a rare model powered by the turbulent V8 428 CJ (Cobra Jet) announced 7.0 to 335 hp. This model then entered the pantheon of the special series of muscle cars, coveted these days by collection. Of course, like many from that era, the real power was significantly higher than that to avoid the wrath of insurance companies.
Today it is emerging that is put up for auction. The model in question belonged to Carroll Shelby, the specialist in Mustang (among others) who died there shortly. This GT500 KR and 547 hp have only 2575 km. The car has the signature of Carroll Shelby on the glove box and the gray card in the name of Shelby and the certificate of purchase, also in his name
